Welcome!

Devoted to the exchange of links, ideas, and discussions, concerning concert band music, musicians, and organizations.

Check out our composers page, featuring John Philip Sousa and Karl L. King, and Henry Fillmore. They are complete with some suggested links to learn more about these gentlemen, as well as some CD’s that are particular favorites of mine. I will be adding many more composers to this section, so stay tuned. If there is a favorite band composer of yours that I have not included, please let me know, or better yet, write an article about her or him and I’ll publish it right here on this very website. We pay zero cents per word for journalistic efforts but you’ll have the admiration and respect of all your fellow band geeks.

You will also see more additions to our Community Band pages. I’m adding them in alphabetically order and it’s an arduous process making sure all these links work. I’m only up to the letter “G”. Yikes! If you would like your band’s website listed, by all means, drop me an e-mail .

If you belong to a school band, fire department, or police band with a website and would like it listed on our page, please let me know. I would like to publish a large list of school, fire, and police bands in addition to these community bands.

I still have the Frederick Fennel CD picks on our “Album” page. I have some material about him under “Conductors” also. When it came to wind ensemble recordings, he was THE MAN!

Please use our Amazon.com search engine as well as the SheetMusicPlus search engine. I get a few pennies for click throughs if you make purchases. It helps defray the cost of the beer and pizza I have to buy for my web design team, the Indevtech boys (Scott and Brent).

I would like to display the links of individual musicians who have their own websites, starting with friends, colleagues and acquaintances. I don’t have a separate “button” for this information yet but let me list here the URL’s of three very talent gentlemen with whom I work quite often here in Honolulu:

Noel Okimoto (www.noelokimoto.com)

Dean Taba (www.deantaba.com)

Rick Broadwell (http://broadwellmusic.com/)

Sue Gillespie (www.fluteharp.com)

Brien Matson (http://www.hawaiiweddingmusic.biz)

And lets not forget my OWN voice-over website

Give their sites a look. You’ll be glad you did. And if you would like me to list YOUR site, let me know. I believe in link exchange as a good way to do Internet business. Quid Pro Quo…I’ll show yours if you show mine.

There will be a shameful commerce line of Band Geeks paraphernalia coming soon…coffee cups, T-shirts and so forth. Like I always say: “Be Proud of your Band Geekdom!”

Aloha,
